Billboard Magazine

As an advertising sales executive for Billboard Magazine, the industry leading music trade publication worldwide with multi-million dollar annual sales revenue, Lewis oversaw a 300% increase in business/advertising revenue in the urban music genre. So successful was the relationship that Lewis created and executive produced Billboard’s first ever Hip–Hop CD and later a Dance music CD. Clients included Jay-Z’s Rocafella Records, Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, Russell Simmons’s Def Jam Records, L.A. Reid’s LaFace Records, Coca-Cola, The Hit Factory Studios, Much Music, MTV, VP Records, and Radio City Music Hall, among many others.


Sm:)e/Profile RECORDS

With Lewis as their Tour Supporter and Artistic Developer, Fatboy Slim, also known as Norman Cook’s Mighty Dub Kats, became a smash hit in the radio and club scene and landed a lucrative licensing deal. Soon after Fatboy Slim, a well known UK producer, procured the deal with Sm:)e/Profile, Mike Nice worked swiftly to form a group and secure a tour in North America, which included the US, Canada, Mexico and also Hawaii. The tour supported and coincided with the success of the record’s airplay, ultimately leading to a second single.


goodwill games

Ted Turner’s Goodwill Games hired the Red Earth team to help market and manage the operations of the Global Pavilion, an entertainment site for international athletes and spectators. Red Earth, with its diverse contacts and ability to create an inclusive atmosphere, successfully met the extraordinary challenge of pulling together multiple music genres for a broad audience. Red Earth was also responsible for putting together the farewell reception/party for one of the world’s greatest female athletes, Jackie Joyner Kersee.


MERCURY/POLYGRAM RECORDS

As Marketing/Product Manager for Mercury Records, Lewis created and executed marketing plans for many well known artists. His roster included Brian McKnight, Joan Osborne, INXS, and The Cardigans, who, thanks to his award-winning efforts, went multi-platinum. On the behest of Mercury's president and former Nirvana manager Danny Goldberg, Lewis also compiled, marketed, and promoted the soundtrack to David Sonenberg's Oscar-winning documentary about Ali/Frazier’s “Rumble in the Jungle” in Zaire, When We Were Kings. He also produced a compilation entitled NBA at 50.

PMD/RCA Records

As Operations Officer, Lewis was involved in almost every aspect of the label, coordinating the efforts of marketing, promotions, video and touring. He also acted as the liaison between PMD and RCA Records in all departments. Artists include PMD (formerly of EPMD) and Jess Wess aka 3rd Eye.

Shuma Management

Lewis was awarded a platinum plaque for his management of recording artist Das Efx. He arranged their second European tour with The Fugees as the opening act.

An Imprint Of Simon & Schuster Macmillan

As Marketing Manager for this music imprint of Simon & Schuster book publishing, Lewis marketed the books Reggae, Rasta, Revolution and Rap Whoz Who.
